A shock announcement on Friday has confirmed the UK as the world’s most vape-friendly country. Just three weeks before the door closes for manufacturers to submit notifications under the new regulations, the MHRA announced that they would no longer require full ingredient disclosure from e-liquid manufacturers.
It’s a move that will delight those who struggled to get their flavor suppliers to give up trade secrets but infuriate those who have invested a small fortune on toxicological work that now seems redundant. We anticipate that many more US e-liquid brands will now consider the UK as a territory worth doing business in.
MHRA sent an email to the industry Friday that included the following statement:

The British Government has started a crackdown on eliquid that is packaged like well known food products, yanking products from shelves including some that are designed to look like Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Trading Standards - the UK Government Agency that enforces the law on consumer products - removed six different brands of eliquid including Murica, which is presented in a box identical to a McDonalds apple pie; and Krispy Vape, which is presented in a Krispy Kreme style box. Other brands removed from sale included Milky Cones, Milkshake Man and Drippy Lee Pounding Clouds.
A spokesman for the local Council, which oversees trading standards, said:
“I’m pleased that our Trading Standards team have investigated and removed these potentially harmful products from sale in Knowsley.
The safety of customers is always our highest priority and I’m concerned that young children could be attracted to these products because of their appearance. If th

Big victory for vape in Pennsylvania!
Vapers and Vape Shops have won the first round of a battle to keep vape alive in the Keystone State. The House Finance Committee voted yesterday in favour of a bill which will repeal the most regressive tax that has ever been seen in US vaping. But this is only the first round in a battle yet to play out.
Last Monday hundreds of vapers and business owners turned up to the State Capitol for the PATAXPROTEST. The tax is set to force shops to pay the State 40% of the wholesale price of all products from October 1st.
The act was passed in July this year and includes a hideous “floor-tax” provision. This forces all shops to pay PA State 40% of the va

Professor Stanton Glantz, ardent opponent of vaping, has engaged in the first interview (that I know of) by a vaping supporter.
Brent Stafford questioned Glantz over a 10 minute Skype session for his RegulatorWatch.com show, and the video (part 1) is available on YouTube
Glantz's cites three main reasons for his opposition to vaping:
He believes they are 40 to 60% safer than smoking which, he contends, is not very safe considering the dangers of smoking.
He believes most smokers do not make the full transition, instead becoming "dual users"
He believes vaping is attracting "gigantic numbers of kids who probably would never pick up a cigarette but are initiating nicotine use with e-cigarettes and then transitioning to cigarettes later"
