Finding the Right Nicotine Strength

When it comes to a great vaping experience, nicotine levels play an important role. The nicotine levels in vape juices are guided by strict industry standards whereas in cigarettes, it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly how much nicotine is included. 

Vape juices come in nicotine strengths ranging from 0 mg right up to 20 mg. These values represent the amount of nicotine in each 1 ml of vape juice, and are sometimes expressed as a percentage. 

Nicotine Salt, commonly known as ‘nic salt’, is a type of processed nicotine used in vape juice. Some vapers prefer nic salts to ‘freebase’ nicotine, which is the original form of nicotine found in vape juices, as it provides a smoother throat hit. Which PG/VG Ratio Should I Choose?

E-liquids contain something known as a PG/VG ratio. Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine (VG) are base components that carry the nicotine and vape juice flavouring.  

Vape juices higher in VG provide vapers with a smoother throat hit and denser cloud production, while vape juices with a higher PG content provide less cloud production. 

The type of vaping device you use also determines what PG/VG ratio you should pick. Vape juice with a high PG concentration works best with low-wattage devices, while vape juices with a high concentration of VG will work best with high-wattage vapes.
