On paper the HorizonTech 100K is unbelievable. It basically doubles up the typical disposable vape. The e-liquid capacity is 40ml, when most rivals hold half that number. The puff count is up to 100,000 when rivals hit half that number. The battery capacity is 1500mAh when rivals rarely top 850mAh. Dual mesh coils are the norm and the HorizonTech 100K brings a 0.8Ω Quad Mesh Coil to that fight. And that coil is fired by up to 40-watts in Boost Mode. The typical Pulse Mode or Turbo Mode is generally in the neighborhood of 20 to 25-watts.

HorizonTech 100K Overview

If your only focus is on puff count, the HorizonTech 100K is a slam dunk winner. But there is much more to the HorizonTech 100K than just capacity.

Pros: The highest capacity, highest wattage disposable vape on market. It has the largest battery of any one-piece disposable vape, although some of the disposable pod vapes like Yovo JB50000 are close when the main battery is attached. A wide array of flavors with massive vapor production.
Cons: Not a small device. You can feel the heft and it feels almost like a vape mod in the hand. No flavor control or ice control feature. The 40W Boost Mode number seems optimistic and also over the top.

Horizontech 100K Ergonomics

The HorizonTech 100K is a big disposable. With the screen of a simple design and on the front plate it looks and feels like a mod. Especially with the leather inlay. The layout and ergonomics are solid, even if it absolutely dwarfs a BC5000 Elf Bar from a couple years ago.

On paper, the difference in size between an 82.6mm x 52.6mm x 22.7mm Geek Bar Pulse and a 109mm x 56mm x 32mm HorizonTech 100K may not seem like much. But it is nearly twice the size as it is bigger in every dimension. Imagine holding two sets of playing cards versus one. That is pretty close to how it feels.

This said, the grippy exterior is nice and the power of the Boost Mode should mean fewer puffs in a day. The stepless airflow is easy to find and it is nice to have a basic screen. There are two many big screens dedicated to superfluous animations.

The fact the HorizonTech 100K is larger in every dimension than its rivals means more interior volume. And they made the most of this and then some.

Display

For reasons that are not entirely clear, everything in this category seems to lean heavily into a nostalgic 1960s Space Race aesthetic. Fortunately, the HorizonTech 100K keeps the theme relatively restrained. Its display is far less ostentatious than competitors like the Geek Bar Pulse X 2, avoiding excessive animations and visual clutter.

Operation is handled through a single button, while the selected vaping mode is displayed directly on the screen using the text "Boost." The interface also incorporates planetary imagery, continuing the space-themed design language without overwhelming the overall user experience.

Quad Mesh Coil

The Quad Mesh Coil, wattage, capacity, battery size, and even the stepless airflow are upgrades over the competition. The output of 40-watts in Boost Mode and 30-watts in Regular Mode are significant as well. Pulse Mode and Turbo Modes are rarely more than 25-watts.

The Quad Mesh aspect, versus the Dual Mesh used in lower capacity devices, will pay off over the long-term. This is a single, closed device that has to withstand 30 to 40 watts while vaping 40ml of e-liquid. Unfortunately, getting into the deep-end of the pool was not possible during this review. It will be interesting to see if the flavors remain as bright-eyed and bushy tailed in a month or so.

An old nicotine salt Juul, which used the same strength 50mg strength and a higher resistance coil, fired at 8-11 watts. This thing not only looks like a vape mod but packs the power of one too. Which can be a bit much, especially for old freebase nicotine users who generally vapes mods at between 40 and 80-watts using e-liquids sixteen 8 to 16 times less potent on average.

Stepless Airflow Control

Stepless airflow might not be integral to your vaping experience but it is a real upgrade. You are no longer limited to a setting or two. The numbers on paper all sound impressive, gaudy even, so how does the HorizonTech 100K vape? In a word it is powerful. The 40-watts seems a bit dubious, at least as a consistent output number and at 30-watts a total of 100K puffs seems a reach as well. But it does have more of a punch than its rivals. A stepless airflow is nice, a real upgrade from the Geek Bar Pulse for example. It still is compact enough to tote around. In a sense it is space efficient as it is the only vape you will need for a month or more after purchase in most use cases. The mouthpiece is well-shaped. All the elements are present but do not matter a whit if the flavor is not there.
