Geek Vape Digi Pro versus Digi Max
The Geek Vape Digi Pro is a 40W pod mod. It is compatible with the Geek Vape J-Pods and JR Pods. The Digi Max is an 80W Pod Mod with a similar form factor but flashier features.

These are the devices which use the J-Pod and JR-Pod we are reviewing today. If you are looking for a huge battery, enough power for freebase e-liquid, but the flexibility to vape salts, the Digi Pro and Digi Max fit the bill. We recent dove into the details of these great vapes in the feature: Review: Geek Vape Digi Max versus Geek Vape Digi Pro
If you want a pared down experience exclusively for nic salts, the Geek Vape Wenax Q and Sonder Q pod kits are probably a better fit.
Geek Vape J-Pod Pros and Cons
Pros: With an integrated coil, the J-Pod is ready to use out of box. Currently, it has identical coil options when compared to the JR-Pod with replaceable coils. The five pack of coils will make this design cheaper to own and operate, and the pod itself will last a very long time.
Cons: Not scheduled to get the 0.2 or 0.3ohm J-Coils that will fit in the JR Pod. The lowest resistance option only requires 28W, which scarcely scratches the surface of the Digi Max's 80W output.
Geek Vape JR-Cartridge/J-Coil Pros and Cons
Pros: Will soon offer unique and powerful coils for adult vapers looking to enjoy vaping mod level vapor production in the Digi Max Pod Mod. Swappable coils create less waste than pods with an integrated coil and a reusable plastic pod.
Cons: Some folks just do not like switching out coils. Until the 0.2 and 0.3ohm coils drop, the JR Pod and J-Coils have an identical selection when compared to the Geek Vape J-Pod with an integrated coil.
Geek Vape J-Pod versus JR Pod
The Geek Vape J cartridge combines convenience and performance. It has an integrated coil. When the coil is worn out, you pitch the whole pod. The Geek Vape JR Cartridge provides a similar vaping experience, but the coil is replaceable. If you buy a JR Pod, you will also need to buy the J-Coil to enjoy a seamless vaping experience. Without the coil, the Geekvape J-Pod is will not function.
The main advantage of the J-Pod is the integrated coil means less work and no swapping coils. The downside is that the Geek Vape JR-Cartridge will soon be available with two additional coil resistances that are not available for the standard J-Pod. These are a 0.2ohm and 0.3ohm coil. These additions will allow the user to dip more deeply into the performance potential of the 80W Geek Vape Digi Max. Now let us look more closely at the Geek Vape JR Coil plus J-Coil combination and the Geekvape J-pod cartridge
Geek Vape J-Pods
There are four cartridge replacement pods available for the Geek Vape J-Pod and a wide range of resistances that suit diverse vaping style. The Geekvape Digi Pro and Digi Max provide a smooth and satisfying vape with any of the pod resistances described.
Geek Vape J-Pods have a capacity of 5ml. They come with an integrated coil and airflow control. It is very impressive that the 1.2ohm J-Pods allow a Digi Max or Digi Pro pod kit to operate as low as 8W, which will give you a performance not unlike the most flavor forward pod kit on the market.
When it comes time for cartridge replacement, the Geek Vape J Replacement pods are all in one, there is no need to hunt down a coil to plug in.
For optimal performance, here are the wattage recommendations of the four Geekvape J-Pod cartridges.

Geek Vape JR Pod
To enjoy the Geek, Vape JR Pod, you will need to insert a Geek Vape J-Coil. This is easy enough. The design of the cartridge ensures that coil installation is easy, with the chances of unwanted leaking minimal.
The blank, or coil free, JR Pod is basically identical to the J-Pod. Both have top airflow. But it is not doing much of anything without a J-Coil installed. Pod cartridge replacement should be infrequent with the top fill design. The side fill models, like some later Smok RPM pods, sometimes have that silicone stopper as a failure point. The top-fill is easier to top off and removes that potential area of leakage.
Geek Vape J-Coils
The J-Cartridge with an integrated coil is not scheduled to get the pair of sub-ohm, fire breathing J-coils that will be compatible with the JR Pod. This is no small deal, as the lowest resistance J-Pod currently requires no more than 28W. This is plenty for most vapers but the 0.2ohm design will likely be good over 50W.
While the need for both a coil and a cartridge might seem more complex than an integrated coil, this really is not the case. The pod is reusable and will last an extremely long time before the rubberized components wear out. All you need to do is find replacement coils and you are back in business.

Final Thoughts
These are identical cartridge replacement pods when it comes to performance. It will all boil down to personal preference, but the JR-Pod/J-Coil combo is a better price performer as the coils come in a five pack and the plastic pod housing of the JR Pod is reusable and easily cleaned.
Anyone who vapes one of Geek Vape's attractive Digi Max Pod Mod Kits may want to consider the JR-Pod/J-Coil combo. It has an extra step compared to J-Replacement Pods but the imminent availability of two more powerful J-Coils will give JR users more cloud producing power on tap. But if the only pod cartridge replacement pods you shop for are higher ohm and for nicotine salts, essentially using you Geek Vape Digi Max as a formidable disposable vape alternative, the J-Pods will provide identical performance.
