New Vaporesso Corex Pods Review

New Vaporesso Corex Pods Review

The Vaporesso XROS series has always provided great value and are extremely easy to use. XROS series pods are available in a wide variety of resistances but are traditionally optimized for salt nic vape juice and were initially designed to provide a refillable alternative to the popular Juul system.

Along with rivals like the Smok Novo, UWell Caliburn and Voopoo Vinci, these are all great products that can provide an excellent vaping experience.

Vaporesso is making a big move with their XROS series pods. Previously, they launched a new pod with each new version but retained some of the old designs.

With the Vaporesso XROS Corex 2.0 pods they are starting with a blank slate and a design that exceeds the performance of all previous designs. They will gradually phase out these older Vaporesso XROS series pods and have created a line-up that includes 2ml and 3ml capacity versions with several resistance options. XROS users are certain to benefit as there is an option for every style of e-liquid.

Vaporesso Corex 2.0 Variants

Perhaps the most interesting option of the Corex 2.0 pod series is not available in the US. This is the 0.4ohm resistance coil equipped 2ml pod. It is for the European and UK markets where nicotine strengths are capped at 20mg.

In the US, the XROS will be competing with 50mg disposables and pod kits and the lower-nicotine freebase e-liquids that benefit from this higher wattage option are simply not as popular and users of such e-liquids are likely to embrace a more powerful vaping device.

  • 0.4ohm Mesh Pod 2ml. Best Wattage: 25W (Not Available in USA)
  • 0.6ohm Mesh Pod 2ml/3ml. Best Wattage: 21W
  • 0.8ohm Mesh Pod 2ml/3ml. Best Wattage: 16W
  • 1.0ohm Mesh Pod 2ml/3ml. Best Wattage: 12W
  • 1.2ohm Mesh Pod 2ml/3ml. Best Wattage: 10W

Best Disposable Vape Alternative

Refillable vape pod kits are an efficient way to enjoy e-liquids and are especially well-suited for nic salts. They feature convenient refilling and draw-activation. The offer better value than a disposable vape and generate far less waste.

Despite being a one-time use device, Vaping.com carries an unmatched selection of disposable vapes because their are the most popular products with adult vapor consumers. Check out our disposable vape collection for the best selection of high-quality and satisfying vapes.

The first generation XROS remains compatible with the continually enhanced pods developed by Vaporesso. The newest of these pod designs is the new Vaporesso Corex 2.0 pods family. It promises the explosive taste of a disposable vape and the enhanced vaping experience of an open system.

Vaporesso Corex 2.0 Pod Pros and Cons

Pros: Cross compatible with older Vaporesso XROS series pod kits. Same user-friendly design but with refined adjustments to the performance of. Increased capacity. Big performance bump in flavor and vapor with Corex Heating Technology when compared to earlier XROS series pods. Cumulus cotton does seem to improve the wicking.

Cons: Increase to 3ml is a step forward but still overshadowed by 15ml plus disposable vapes on market. Side filling system adopted for 3ml pod. The size and wattage limitations imposed by the size of the Vaporesso XROS series design prevents the use of larger and freer breathing coils.

Improved Corex 2.0 Pod Features

The Vaporesso XROS series is a proven and reliable platform that can generate a great puff. It is also a device that has a reputation for less leakage than its rivals- specifically the Smok Novo. SSS Leak Resistant Technology is designed to lock the liquid inside and prevent messy leakage.

SSS apparently stands for Seal Comprehensively, Saturate Properly, and Store Safely. In other words, the onus does remain on the adult user to operate their Vaporesso XROS properly because these are not sealed devices but require a fill port to function.

Cross Compatible Corex 2.0 Pods

That Vaporesso has made each newer itineration of their pod design compatible with first generation XROS pod systems proves a huge bonus. The Vaporesso XROS series has always competed for the business of prefilled or closed vape device customers. But the benchmark for performance has shifted quite a bit. Back in 2017, the wispy and mild flavor of Juul Mint dominated the market.

With a battery of less than 300mAh and an output of less than 12-watts, the Juul device was extremely expensive to operate and simply did not produce much vapor. The four the 0.7ml pods cost as much as a 30ml bottle of nic salts.

Today, the Vaporesso XROS and the bottled nic salts required to fill it, are competing with the flavor delivery and boisterous notes of the modern disposable vapes. Just as important, there are variants of the Corex 2.0 pods that are perfect for mod users and fans of lower-nicotine freebase e-liquids.

XROS Corex 2.0 Pods Enhancements

The most high-performance XROS Corex 2.0 pod design has a resistance of 0.4ohm. The 0.4Ω Corex 2.0 atomizer improves on previous XROS series pods with refined adjustments to the morph mesh grid size for optimal temperature matching. This enables faster heating and an explosive taste. The upgraded cumulus cotton has optimized permeability to supply the atomizer with e-liquid. This prevents the reviled burnt taste and extends the lifespan.

By Vaporesso's estimate, aroma reproduction is up 30 percent, vapor production is increased 15 percent and most importantly the pod lifespan is expanded almost a third with a 30 percent bump.

Vaporesso Corex 2.0 Pod Capacity

Increasing pod life 30 percent goes a long way towards addressing an advantage that disposable vapes have in user experience. With a pod capable of lasting through half a bottle of nic salts or more, it is comparable to a typical Geek Bar Pulse sized vape that also holds 15ml nic salts.

Another big change is providing a 3ml option. Someday we may have compact pod kits with 15 or 18ml tanks with dual coils. For now, this 50 percent increase in capacity increases intervals between fillings. As both disposable vapes and refillable pod kits are limited by battery charge, this extra capacity should allow the typical vaper to get more than a day from their device and the battery should no longer outlast the capacity of the pods.

The XROS Corex 2.0 retains key features like the clam shell design as an intuitive filling system and a clear front so you can judge the remaining e-liquid to avoid dry hits. The actual upgrade in the form of second generation Corex heating technology is contained within.

Vaping the Vaporesso XROS Corex 2.0

The appearance of the Corex 2.0 pod has been modernized but will be familiar to previous users. This is to be expected as the footprint was unchanged to remain compatible with older XROS pod kits.

The familiar clamshell top-filling Press to Fill (PTF) system is still in place for the 2ml versions but the 3ml pods are now side filling. For a veteran vaper using an open system, how you refill your XROS series may seem like a small deal. But for someone making the switch, the old PTF top fill has been a performance differentiator when comparing the Smok Novo family to the XROS series. The PTF top fill is so fast and easy to use. It is also child resistant with an internal locking mechanism. The inner spring creates a tight seal that eliminated spillage and mess.

Fiddling with a silicone stopper, as you must do on the 3ml pods, is a step down. Perhaps there was no other way to make a 3ml pod compatible with the XROS series, but it is a slower method to refill e-liquid into the pod.

The pace does quicken when it comes to the faster heating of the Corex 2.0 Pods when compared to previous models. Flavor delivery is pristine and when filled with a heavily flavored nic salt it really does turn the Vaporesso XROS into a perfect disposable vape replacement.

The enhanced Morph Mesh Grid Size provides optimal temperature matching with more surface area as well which also improves flavor and vapor.

Ranking the Vaporesso XROS Corex 2.0 Pods

Previous generations of Vaporesso XROS series pods were long-lasting, flavorful, and capable. The Corex 2.0 pods improve upon this, moving it from a mid-pack performer to one of the best in class. It also keeps an old Vaporesso XROS series pod kit up and running with the latest and greatest in coil technology.

The 2ml 0.6ohm pod was the author's personal favorite, ideal for mid-range nic salts at the Vaporesso XROS preset wattage levels and with warm and robust vapor production. The 0.8ohm was the best blend while fans of 50mg nicotine salts and the tautest draw possible will want to head the opposite way with the 1.2ohm pod.

The extra 1ml would mean more to a vaper on the go. As a mostly stationary user who returns home daily, the 2ml capacity is fine and the same as its competitors. The need for the bigger pod can be explained by both high-capacity disposable vapes and the Smok Novo now offering some elongated models that hold 3ml. The XROS series competes heavily with both.

Final Thoughts Vaporesso XROS Corex 2.0 Pods

Vaporesso Corex 2.0 pods offer improved flavor consistency, smooth delivery, and the performance to elevate older XROS devices. The Morph Mesh coil design and Cumulus Cotton seem to be more than marketing jargon. Compared head-to-head for this review there was a notable improvement. Simplifying the number of pod designs will also help vape shops keep these in stock and the user will save money with these longer lasting designs. Vaping.com offers a wide range of vaping accessories for purchase

With fast and reliable shipping, adult vapor consumers can enjoy the best and most satisfying products. Switching to a refillable device from a disposable vape is also the right thing for the environment, as the lithium-ion battery will provide years of service rather than days before ending up in the landfill.
