What are Vape Juices and E-liquids?

Also called e-liquid, e-juice or vape juice, vape juice refers to the liquid products that we put in our vape to create the vapour itself. In general, the juice is comprised of five ingredients - water, flavouring, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin and nicotine (excluding zero nicotine liquids).

  • Food-grade flavourings are used for many food-based applications, are safe to consume, and when combined correctly, can produce a wide variety of amazing flavours.

  • Propylene Glycol is a colourless and odourless liquid that is used in many food and medical applications. This ingredient helps to evenly distribute taste and flavour throughout the vape e-liquid.

  • Vegetable Glycol is a natural chemical that is derived from vegetable oil. It is used to give thickness to the vapour, to smoothen out the harshness of PG, and give more body to vape liquid flavours.

There are thousands of high-quality flavours available on the market, but we only offer the most sought-after from the most premium brands. Our e-liquids are hand-picked by our staff of connoisseurs; testing each for flavour, consistency, smoothness and vape-ability.

Choosing An E-Liquid Nicotine Strength

You'll find most brands have made their liquids available in different nicotine strengths.

The vast majority of regular premixed 10ml liquids are available in nicotine-free 0mg, 3mg, and 6mg strengths and are designed for sub-ohm vaping.

Shortfill flavours containing zero mg of nicotine are perfect for vapers looking to get rid of their reliance on nicotine. You can mix your own nicotine concentrate with a nicotine shot added to your shortfill to create sub-ohm strength liquids in larger quantities.

50/50 blends are designed for a more versatile nicotine experience with pod systems, 50/50 refers to the PG/VG balance and they have a much broader strength range from 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg.

Nicotine salts are our strongest line of liquids available coming in 10ml bottles, choose your flavour and 10mg or 20mg strengths. Nic salts are designed for a smooth, satisfying vape with discrete vapour and can only be used with 0.8-ohm coils and above.

First-time vaper? What nicotine strength do you choose?

Your best bet is to start with a 3mg vape juice. If you find you aren't getting enough satisfaction you can always top up with some 6mg until you find the perfect balance. If you have a pod system or low power (wattage) you could also try a nicotine salt. You can read more about nic salts below.

What does 50/50 vape juice mean?

50/50 vape juice refers to the ratio of propylene glycol (PG) to vegetable glycerin (VG) ingredients. A 50/50 ratio means that the vape juice is made up of half PG and half VG.

Propylene glycol (PG) is a thin, clear liquid that is used as a base to dilute the flavourings and nicotine in vape juice. It is known for its strong flavour and throat hit, which can mimic the feeling of smoking a traditional cigarette.

Vegetable glycerin (VG) is a sweet, thick liquid that is also used as a base ingredient. It is known for producing large vapour clouds and a smoother throat hit.

Therefore a 50/50 ratio is a good balance between flavour and vapour production. It is a great option for beginners and for those who like a moderate amount of vapour and a decent throat hit. Some people may be sensitive to propylene glycol, but for those people, it's better to opt for a higher VG ratio e-liquid.

What are PG/VG levels in Vape Juice?

Every vape juice has a PG/VG ratio so that you know what to expect from your vape juice. If your preference is for a strong throat hit pick an e-liquid with a high ratio of PG. A vaper who wants a super smooth vape and chuck massive clouds should go for a higher VG ratio.

What are Nicotine Salts?

Nic salts are a stronger type of vape juice with typically a 50:50 PG/VG ratio and nicotine strengths of 10mg to 20mg. They are designed to work in super-popular pod vapes and other low-power systems.

These produce much less vapour than the higher wattage or sub-ohm devices and need to be paired with higher resistance coils of 0.8 Ohms and over. A word of warning, if you were to put nic salts in one of these devices it would result in a very harsh throat hit and provide you with a generally unpleasant vape experience.

Does vape juice expire?

Vape juice does not technically expire but it can degrade over time. The shelf life of vape juice can vary depending on the ingredients and storage conditions but it is recommended to use the vape juice within a year of purchase.

A vaping e-liquid or juices longevity can depend on many factors. We will advise that it’s best practice to view the information on your e-liquid bottle to find out how long your e-liquid is ‘shelf stable’ when keeping your e-juice sealed and stored correctly as the packaging suggests.

How to open a vape juice bottle?

For safety reasons, the vape juice bottle features a child safety lock. To open press downwards and turn anti-clockwise. Sometimes even significant downward pressure isn't enough to break the seal. If that happens you will need to use a knife or small screwdriver to pry open the seal between the lid and the bottle.

Vape Juice Pods vs Bottles

Vape pods come with re-fillable liquid capacities with silicone stoppers or twist-off caps. When the juice has run out you need to re-fill, this is one of the easiest methods of open pod systems like the SMOK Novo 4, which have refillable pods that you can fill with any brand's vape juice.

Safety Advice

  • Always make sure that you keep your bottle out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Make sure you have the correct PG/VG ratio
